Large Liverpool delft bowl, circa 1750 “While we live, let us live well”

Dum vivimus vivamus is a Latin phrase that means “While we live, let us live.” It is often taken to be an Epicurean declaration. The addition of Bene thus means “While we live, let us live well” hence the cherub with a bottle and glass of wine.
