Prattware pottery commemorative jug moulded with Admiral Duncan and Captain Trollope, circa 1800

Both their names are moulded into the sashes below their necks. Admiral Adam Duncan, 1st Viscount Duncan (1 July 1731 – 4 August 1804) was a British admiral who defeated the Dutch fleet off Camperdown on 11 October 1797. This victory is considered one of the most significant actions in naval history. Admiral Sir Henry Trollope, GCB (20 April 1756 – 2 November 1839) was an officer of the British Royal Navy. He served under Admiral Duncan at the battle of Camperdown.
