Fulham salt glaze stoneware tankard with a glass bottom, circa 1750

Something I have never seen before are three holes made near the outside of the foot rim that have small wooden pegs in presumedly to hold the glass bottom in place before the compound securing the glass was applied. The initials “W J” are inscribed in the glass

Height: 4 ¾”

Condition: Two minute chips on the rim
