The Battle of the Nile, also known as the Battle of Aboukir Bay, was a major naval battle fought on August 1, 1798, between the British Royal Navy and the French Navy. It resulted in a decisive British victory, effectively destroying the French fleet and disrupting Napoleon’s campaign in Egypt.
