A Victorian food chopper in lovely untouched condition. The blade has that mellow patina that carbon steel acquires when it has been properly cared for. The upper edge of the blade is adorned with a Cupid’s Bow, surrounded by additional flutes. The handle is lignum, turned to mirror the decoration on the blade, with a similar Cupid’s Bow, complemented by a flute on each side. The understated elegance of this utilitarian object makes me think that it is British, but it could possibly be Continental. Either way, it should make a discerning collector quite happy.
