Later in 1797 he commanded the 74-gun\u00a0Russell at the Battle of Camperdown. For his part in this victory he was made a Knight Companion of the Order of the Bath and elevated as a Knight Grand Cross in 1831.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Admiral Adam Duncan, 1st Viscount Duncan, KB (1 July 1731\u00a0\u2013 4 August 1804) was a British admiral who defeated the Dutch fleet off Camperdown on 11 October 1797.
